787'S MAIDEN FLIGHT

Luckily I could witness the maiden flight of Boeing 787 Dreamliner live on CNN in Delta Sky Club lounge at SFO. It was happening in one of Boeing's main bases for commercial aircrafts Everett, Washington, which is in the same time zone as SF. After the long delay of production, this "game changer of the sky" is finally airborne. Seeing new plane in the air is always great. Congratulations Boeing, and the launch customer ANA!

幸運にもSFOのデルタ スカイクラブラウンジで、CNNによるボーイング787ドリームライナーの処女飛行のライブ中継を見ることができた。映像はサンフランシスコと同じタイムゾーンにあるボーイングの商業機の本拠地のひとつ、ワシントン州エバレットからのもの。製造の遅れがかなり長引いたが、ついにこの「空のゲームチェンジャー」がテイクオフ。新しい航空機が飛ぶのを見るのはいつだって素晴らしい。ボーイング、そしてローンチカスタマーのANA、おめでとう。

As a loyal passenger since days when they had smoking cabin, I'm glad to find NWA logos are still visible every here and there.

喫煙のできるキャビンがあった時代からのロイヤルカスタマーとして、まだそこらじゅうにNWAのロゴが見られるのは嬉しい。

Despite new Delta color, flight number is still NW. A330 is beautiful machine, however I feel the same cabin width as A300 is a bit narrow for transpacific flights.

MAHA HARADA'S SEARCH STORIES

Ms. Maha Harada, an author of the novel "Tsubasa wo kudasai~Freedom in the sky" which I helped as Aviation Adviser and Creative Director, created 2 versions of Google's search story with "Search Story Maker(Generator)." Even with only 5 lines of text, she can deliver her universe of storytelling. Maybe these are the shortest novels she has ever written. These movies are now introduced on Google Japan's official Search Story Blog.

僕が航空アドバイザー兼クリエーティブディレクターとして手伝った小説「翼をください~Freedom in the sky」の著者である原田マハさんが、Googleの「検索ストーリーメーカー」で２つの検索ストーリーを作った。たった５行のテキストでも、そこには彼女の物語世界がある。もしかしたらこの２つの作品は、原田さんがこれまで書いた中で一番短い小説かも。この動画はGoogle Japanの「検索ストーリーブログ」でも紹介中。

I took new Narita Express E259 train for the first time. They put 2-2 rows seat configuration on Green Car of this new model. The smell of brand-new leather seats is not bad, but I prefer solo seat of older 2-1 rows layout. An example of "downgraded" service.

"Team Nippon-Go" had a special wedding party for Ms. Yanagi, an editor for Ms. Maha Harada's novel "Tsubasa wo kudasai~Freedom in the sky", and her groom Mr. Nakata at Roppongi Hills Club on 51st floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower.

原田マハさんの小説「翼をください~Freedom in the sky」の編集者である柳さんと、新郎中田さんのための特別なウェディングパーティを「チーム・ニッポン号」が六本木ヒルズ森タワー51階の六本木ヒルズクラブで開催。

This custom-ordered wedding cake with Mitsubishi Twin-Engine Transport L3M1 "Nippon-Go", the hero plane of the novel. I've been a plane geek for about 2 decades, but this is my first time to see a cake with such a realistic airplane. Great work by pastry chef of Roppongi Hills Club.

小説のヒーローである飛行機、三菱双発輸送機「ニッポン号」を載せた特注のウェディングケーキ。飛行機オタクを20年以上やっているが、ここまでリアルな航空機が載っているケーキというのは初めて見る。六本木ヒルズクラブのパティシエによる力作。

TEAM NIPPON-GO'S TALK SESSION AT ACADEMYHILLS PART1

Following the ones at Ginza, Haneda, Yaesu, and Tokorozawa, this is our 5th event. As "Team Nippon-Go", author of novel "Tsubasa wo kudasai~Freedom in the sky" Ms. Maha Harada, Mr. Toshio Yabe from Mori Building, and I had a talk session at auditorium of Academyhills, education/forum/library facility on 49th floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. This time we are introducing not only "Tsubasa wo kudasai", but also Ms. Harada's key works under the title "Stories that go beyond boundaries-Possibility of the novel that transcends borders, media, and status quo."

銀座、羽田、八重洲、所沢に続いてこれが５回目。「チーム・ニッポン号」として、小説「翼をください~Freedom in the sky」の著者である原田マハさん、森ビルの矢部さん、そして僕が、六本木ヒルズ森タワー49階にある教育／フォーラム／ライブラリー施設「アカデミーヒルズ」のオーディトリアムでトークショーを行った。今回は「越境する物語－国境もメディアも既成概念も超えていく小説の可能性」というタイトルのもと、「翼をください」を紹介するだけでなく、原田さんの主要作品もとりあげていった。
