YANGON CIRCULAR RAILWAY: DIESEL HEAVEN

The train stops for a while at Yangon Central Station. So it's time for a little photo shoot. Nobody cares even though I'm stepping onto the live rail track.

Another diesel train transferred from JR Central, ex-KiHa 11, is on the same platform.

Myanmar Rail's steam locomotive No. 144. It is said that this was built by British locomotive manufacturer Beyer, Peacock and Company in 1916.

Resuming the journey. The driver kindly let me stand inside the cockpit noticing me taking a lot of pictures. A view through the opened gangway door is great. Now the ex-KiHa 40 with JR East Tohoku Regional Headquarters livery, which I witnessed at the Central Station the other day, is coming towards us.
